Lenovo Yoga Slim 9i Review: Premium Mobility With Tradeoffs

Editor's note: This is an original English adaptation based on the Notebook-Center.ru review published on January 19, 2022, rewritten for Notebook Center's English overview archive.
Overview
Lenovo built the Yoga Slim 9i to be noticed. The reviewed configuration offers a Core i7-1165G7, 16 GB of LPDDR4x memory, a 2 TB SSD, and a glossy 4K touchscreen in a chassis that weighs only 1.2 kg. That is a premium travel-oriented package, and the source review makes clear that the asking price of about $2800 places it well above ordinary ultrabook territory.

Design and Usability
Mobility is a defining strength. The notebook is thin, light, and clearly intended for people who move often between locations and want a machine that still feels luxurious in hand. Lenovo's premium Yoga design language helps it stand apart from more functional-looking business notebooks, although buyers should always remember that visual refinement alone does not justify the full price.
Display and Everyday Experience
The 14-inch 4K touchscreen is one of the main reasons to choose the model. It gives the Yoga Slim 9i a sharper, more upscale presentation than mainstream ultrabooks, which suits buyers who care about display quality and media appeal. The downside is the glossy finish, which inevitably makes reflections more visible than on matte panels. Audio support with Dolby Atmos also helps the notebook feel more complete as a premium portable machine.
Performance
Core i7-1165G7 performance is strong for mainstream ultrabook work, and 16 GB of memory plus a 2 TB SSD leave little room for complaint on storage or responsiveness. The limitation is graphics: Iris Xe is useful for everyday acceleration and lighter creative work, but it keeps the Yoga Slim 9i firmly out of the serious gaming or workstation category.
Ports and Battery
Lenovo modernizes the connectivity heavily with three Thunderbolt 4-capable USB-C ports, but that also means buyers must live without the variety of full-size connections found on more practical notebooks. The 63.5 Wh battery is respectable, and together with the low weight it reinforces the Slim 9i's identity as a premium travel companion rather than a universal desktop replacement.
Verdict
The Yoga Slim 9i is attractive because it delivers real polish in a very portable package. The display, storage capacity, and build all feel premium. But the narrow port mix and integrated-only graphics make it more specialized than the price suggests, so it is best suited to buyers who put mobility and design first.
