Design and Build
The chassis has a restrained business style in mineral gray, with matte surfaces that do not collect fingerprints quickly. Lenovo uses a 180-degree hinge and reports MIL-STD-810 testing for temperature, dust, humidity, and drop resistance. At 1.8 kg, this 15.6-inch model is still manageable for regular carry.
Display, Audio, and Webcam
The Full HD IPS panel offers solid contrast and anti-glare comfort for office work and media use. Average brightness around 250 nits is acceptable indoors and can work outside in shade, but not ideal under strong sun. Audio quality is serviceable for calls and casual playback, while the 720p camera is suitable for video meetings.
Keyboard and Input
The keyboard is full-size with a numpad, clear key labeling, and backlighting for low-light work. Key response is described as precise, and the layout remains standard, so adaptation time is short. The power button integrates a fingerprint scanner, and the clickpad supports reliable navigation and multi-touch gestures.
Performance and Daily Work
Ryzen 5 4500U gives this configuration enough speed for common office workflows beyond basic document tasks. Integrated Radeon Vega 6 can also handle light graphics and less demanding games at low settings. The main practical limit is memory and SSD capacity in this setup: 4 GB RAM and 256 GB storage can become restrictive for heavier multitasking and larger local files.
Ports and Battery
Port selection is a strong point: USB-A, two USB-C (including Thunderbolt 4 support on one port), HDMI, RJ-45, SD card reader, and audio jack. Charging over USB-C simplifies desk setup. The 45 Wh battery is usable for moderate sessions, but under heavier load runtime drops quickly, so frequent users should plan around access to a charger.
Verdict
Lenovo ThinkBook 15 Gen 2 in this Ryzen 5 configuration is a practical business laptop with a comfortable keyboard, good everyday display characteristics, and very flexible connectivity. Its key trade-off is the entry-level 4 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD configuration, plus modest battery endurance under load. For office-oriented users who value ports, input comfort, and stable daily performance, it remains a sensible option.
